Bellarmine Sikh Student Association: Community, Compassion, and Service in Action

Updated: Nov 4

The Bellarmine Sikh Student Association (SSA) at Bellarmine College Preparatory continues to stand as a cornerstone of cultural unity, compassion, and service. Rooted in the Sikh principles of seva (selfless service) and sarbat da bhala (the welfare of all), the organization brings together students from all backgrounds to celebrate Sikh culture and create a positive impact on the world around them.

Most recently, SSA organized a successful fundraiser to support victims of the devastating floods in Punjab, India. These floods displaced millions of people and caused significant loss of life and livelihood. Through selling various baked goods, SSA members rallied the Bellarmine community to contribute over 1100 dollars in funds and resources for relief efforts. Their work not only provided critical support to those in need abroad but also served as a reminder of how student-led initiatives can inspire real change.

As the SSA continues to grow, it remains deeply committed to living out the values of service and compassion. By joining the organization or supporting its causes, Bellarmine students can help strengthen the bridge between community, culture, and kindness—one act of seva at a time.
