The American Legion: Giving Back To Our Nation's Veterans

The American Legion is one of our nation’s largest organizations dedicated to veterans' causes. Over 1.6 million members – veterans, wives, families, advocates, and volunteers – create a net that pays proper tribute to our nation’s servicemember.
Best of all, the American Legion loves supporting youth; there are plenty of opportunities for high schoolers to help out. To do so is simple: find your local “Post,” a chapter of the American Legion in your city. The Post will contain a building dedicated to community events, a supervising Commander and line-of-command, and dozens of chances to get involved.
Volunteers have already come back from the American Legion and shared amazing stories with us: helping out with veterans at First Sunday Breakfast, during their annual Veterans Parade, and so much more. It’s a chance to connect and learn from our nation’s bravest, performing an act of service that lasts a lifetime.
