Unveiling the New and Improved: Updates to Our Volunteer Database and Community Outreach Efforts

As the holiday season comes to an end and the new year begins, we are excited to share some updates regarding our website, especially within our volunteer database. These changes are intended to enhance your experience, while furthering our goal of using volunteering to match people with their passions and interests.

Our improvements include vibrant images next to listings, turning our previously text-heavy interface into a user-friendly and welcoming platform.

Improved Volunteer Database

One of our most notable improvements is the introduction of appealing images for each volunteer opportunity. These images give a brief overview of the tasks involved in each project. For instance, a picture of volunteers planting trees can inspire someone to join a local environmental initiative. By using images, we help potential volunteers speed up their decision making process.

In addition to images, we've finalized a structured spreadsheet system to organize these opportunities. Users can now filter and search through over 200 volunteer opportunities based on location, type of service, age, passion area, skills involved, and time commitment. This organization makes it easier for each person to find a role that suits their interests and availability.

Increased Outreach Efforts

Beyond improving our website, we have made significant steps in our outreach within the Bellarmine community and beyond. From engaging with more volunteers to connecting with organizations, we have expanded our impact to create meaningful service opportunities for a variety of audiences.

We also plan to become an official club at our school. This future recognition will give us access to additional resources and support, helping us promote our website more effectively. We have also recently held planning sessions with our club advisor to set goals and outline strategies to enhance our community impact.
